History	The first station on this frequency, the ILGWU`s WFDR-FM, was on the air from May 18, 1949 to February 15, 1952. The station signed on again on December 1, 1956 as WFMX, a classical music station broadcasting from the Pierre Hotel. It was the first station in the New York area to use multiplexing. The call letters were changed to WNCN in 1957. WNCN briefly switched to AOR WQIV on November 7, 1974, again becoming classical WNCN 8/75 - 12/93. Current call letters and Active Rock format adopted 12/18/93; switch to Classic Rock 7/1/96.
