History Previously WRNW, WZFM, WXPS, rock WRGX; acquired by Big City Radio on 1/1/95 and country format introduced on 12/4/96 as WWXY; call letters changed to WYNY 12/17/98.  The country music format was discontinued on May 7, 2002, and a Spanish/Latin music format was introduced on May 8, 2002 as "Rumba 107.1".  Up until April 2, 2003, Big City Radio simulcasted on this frequency from this and three other stations in the greater NYC area - WWXY (formerly WWVY) in Hampton Bays, L.I., WWZY in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, and WWYY in Northwest New Jersey.  On December 31, 2002, Big City Radio announced that it was selling 107.1 to Nassau Broadcasting. On April 2, 2003, the call letters of WYNY were changed to WXPK, and on April 3, 2003, WXPK began broadcasting a simulcast of Pamal Broadcasting`s CHR station WSPK Poughkeepsie as "K107". Pamal, operating under a Local Marketing Agreement, introduced a Rock AC format as of April 5, 2004. Pamal purchased the station from Nassau Broadcasting in December, 2004.
